Quick how-to video
Step 1. Set up & prepare
Follow these instructions carefully to make sure you get the most out of the screen. Don’t worry, the whole thing should take about 30 minutes.
STEP 1
Make sure you meet all the requirements listed above.
STEP 2
Before you take your sample, activate your test by completing the online questionnaire. This will help us contextualise your results and provide you with personalised health insights.
STEP 3
Please collect your sample on days 2-5 of your cycle (day 1 is your first day of bleeding). This is when your results can be accurately interpreted. If you're no longer menstruating, you can get tested on any day.
STEP 4
Prepare the kit by laying it out on a table or your bathroom counter.
STEP 5
Wash and dry your hands.
STEP 6
Identify the collection site – for best results remove any hair. (optional)
1.2 Prepare the Auto-draw device
STEP 1
Remove device from tray. Twist and remove cap from tube. Don’t throw away the cap - you will need it later.
STEP 2
With fill lines facing forward, press the tube into the device until snug.
1.3 Increase blood flow at collection site
STEP 1
Follow the heat pack instructions to activate. If the pack does not heat up, discard and use your hand instead.
STEP 2
Apply the heat pack to your upper arm (collection site) and move it up and down for at least 2 minutes to warm the area and increase blood flow. Alternatively, rub the area with your hand.
STEP 3
Clean the area with an alcohol pad and allow it to dry.
STEP 4
Remove the clear cover from the red button.
Step 2. Collect
STEP 1
Peel the tab away from the device and firmly stick the device to the upper arm. Hang your arm straight down at the side.
STEP 2
Press the button all the way down ONCE and release. Set a timer for 5 minutes. Watch the tube fill using a mirror as needed.
STEP 3
You may not feel the device. Allow the tube to fill for 5 minutes. Remove the device if blood reaches the top line before time is up. Do not fill the past top line!
STEP 4
Remove the device by peeling from one side. Apply supplied bandage vertically and add slight pressure.
STEP 5
Remove tube from device with a slight twist and pull down. Be careful not to spill it. Snap cap fully onto tube.
STEP 6
Gently invert the tube 5 times to mix the blood. Tap or flick tube to get blood moving. The gel in the tube will not mix with the blood.
Step 3. Ship
STEP 1
Place tube in the hard shell container and close firmly.
STEP 2
Fill out the return form with the time and date when you collected your sample.
STEP 3
Put both the container and return form in the prepaid envelope that has the lab address on it.
STEP 4
Seal the prepaid envelope and aim to post your sample in a postbox with late collection times or at a post office. To find the nearest postbox and check collection times, visit www.royalmail.com/services-near-you.
STEP 5
Follow local guidelines for discarding all materials. Dispose of cardbox box in household recycling. Everything else should go in normal household waste.
